History
Born to Norwegian parents, Magnus Gjoen grew up in Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, and the UK[1]. Gjoen studied fine art and fashion design, which led him to a career in fashion, working for brands such as Vivienne Westwood[2]
Career
Magnus Gjoen’s artwork uses recurring themes such as destructive beauty, dualism, portraiture, revisiting the past, war, and religion[3].
Some of his artwork is housed in Soho House Amsterdam, The Wallace Museum[4], The Curtain London, 19 Dutch, Wringer & Mangle, Flavour Bastard, Kate Moss' home[5], and more. His artworks have also been featured on the cover of music albums including James The Band[6], As Lions Band, and Thunder.
